Suikoden 2 video problem
Hey all,
I'm trying to play Suikoden 2, I made myself an ISO of the cd since I had a lot of problems with the cdrom plugin settings. I'm seeing odd little blackboxes every now and then where parts of the background should be. Also, if I go upstairs into a building(like the one you start out at near the beginning of the game and you're doing chores for some dude) the screen is completely black except for the character sprites. I'll post my settings below, I tried using the search but it turned up stuff completely unrelated to Suikoden. Thanks for any help in advance. Plugin: Pete's D3D Driver 1.1.70 Author: Pete Bernert GFX card: RADEON 9700 PRO Resolution/Color: - 800x600 Fullscreen - [32 Bit] Textures: - R8G8A8A8 - Filtering: 6 - Hi-Res textures: off - VRam size: 0 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limit: on - Frame skipping: on - FPS limit: Auto Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 3 - Framebuffer texture: 2 - Framebuffer access: 3 - Alpha multipass: off - Mask bit: off - Advanced blending: none Misc: - Scanlines: off [0] - Unfiltered FB: off - Dithering: off - Screen smoothing: off - Full vram: off - Game fixes: on [00000800] |

Use 2 for better filtering (in most cases) and try disabling the Game fixes (esp. if you checked "lazy upload detection) but since I never played this game... I can't be sure of what to do

can you give me a screenshot of your problem? I played suikoden 2 a lot of times and I never encounter that problem...

as suikoden 2 is a 2d game, i would suggest using a soft plugin, as peops. With your actual plugin, turn off frame skipping, i don't think you need it. Disable 'lazy...' as killjoy said. Try enabling mask bit, or alpha multipass, or both, so you could see what happens.
