error while loading medievil 1

hi!

when playing medievil 1 an error occurs while loading the 3rd level. while the 3rd level is loaded, an picture with a cd and an exclamation mark is displayed and the game does not continue.
the error occurs when playing the game from the original cd and also when playing from an iso. the cd is not damaged (no scratches).
if somebody has an idea what is wrong please tell me.

thanks

ps.: my plugins are: pete's open gl 1.68, eternal spu 1.40, scph

Well... it could be an error of the cd plugin. Try with others like Xeven's Sapu's of PEOPS'. Anyway post your current cd plugin seetings

also upgrade to petes 1.71 plugins, and as proto said post your cd plugin specs, that way we can help you a little better.

hi again!

i tried some other cdr plugins, but none of them fixed my problem, nothing changed.
i tried following plugins: P.E.Op.S. CDR Driver 1.2" and "Pete's CDR ASPI/IOCTL Driver 1.10".
i also upgraded pete's gpu to 1.71 => this showed also no effect.

my settings for the cdr plugin are:
Interface: W9x (im using win98)
Read Mode: BE_2 (result of the auto-detection
i will not list the following options, because i tried them all with all possibilities

ps.: my bios is scph 7502

I know this screen, in a mag I 've read that it's the copyprotection

just use subchannels reading

Huh??? What do you think that screen stands for?

It is just some standard anti-piracy information screen which is optional for game developers to display (FFVIII & IX for example don't show it), but it doesn't belong to mosi's problem. Mosi, does that problem occur on a real PSX? Maybe your CD is scratched.

to F-3582:

the cd does not have scratches, it looks good .
i bought the cd only a few days ago. i also created an image from the game (with CDRWin ), and no errors occured while doing this ....

i can not tell you wether the cd is working on a psx or not, because i do not have a psx. perhaps i can try it out at a friend; but it will take a longer time to do this

to killjoy:
sorry, i meant another screen. the screen i described is displayed during the game, while a new level is loaded.

s8n, would you please delete that link as quickly as possible? Mods don't like crack sites.

BTW: www.ngemu.com/psx also has a PPF patch section. Take a look there.

I have Medievil 1,and I'm now in level 13, 14. Untill now I have no problem.

I use Internal W2K or SaPu's CDR Plugin, both works.

If you want, send me your memcard and I'll make you a save state after that load.

I know that, i just posted it cause it's piracy related...

Medieval is copy protected, so even if you have the original game, you'll need the subchannel reading to play it..
so either you make your ISO with CloneCD, either you use the subchannel reading feature... unless you download a PPF

yep killjoy is corrupt you need to enable subchannel reading which can be slow or make an iso which is already has subchannels enhanced. that is the only way you'll pass lvl 3

but IMO, the PPF patching is the best solution
