Final Fantasy VIII --> main menu frame not there

Hello guys.
I have looked into all of the FF VIII threads posted, but none of them include this problem.
Nevertheless, I tried all of the things stipulated in them, but with no luck.
Well, here are my specs:

Pentium III 600
128RAM
Win XP pro
Winfast GeForce 4 TH DDR 64

And here is my ePSXe config:

Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.71
Author: Pete Bernert
Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
GFX card: GeForce4 MX 440/AGP

Resolution/Color:
- 800x600 Fullscreen - NO desktop changing [32 Bit]
- Keep psx aspect ratio: off

Textures:
- R8G8B8A8
- Filtering: 2
- Hi-Res textures: 0
- VRam size: 64 MBytes

Framerate:
- FPS limitation: on
- Frame skipping: off
- FPS limit: 60

Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 3
- Framebuffer texture: 2
- Framebuffer access: 0
- Alpha multipass: on
- Mask bit: off
- Advanced blending: on

Misc:
- Scanlines: off
- Line mode: off
- Unfiltered FB: off
- 15 bit FB: off
- Dithering: off
- Screen smoothing: off
- Screen cushion: off
- Game fixes: off [00000600]
==========================

Well, my problem is this, and I will exemplify it with a screenshot.
Take a look at this:

As you can see, the frame that is supposed to be there, its not.

So if anyone could help me, it would be amazing.

Thanks

What's wrong about that shot???

If you are referring to the characters' stats (or the entire battle menu) not having a background frame, don't panic: They are displayed correctly

I think he means that the only menu option he has is Attack.

You have to junction other the other commands to characters before you can use them.

In my opinion he _can_ see all the menu items (He's selecting Squall's special attack at the moment), but he's missing the FF1-7 styled battle menus.

There's nothing wrong about the screenshot... FF VIII's interface style is a bit different from other FF's interfaces.

No, no guys.
The other ITEM and DRAW menues arent there because I just started the game, and tested it, I didnt add them.

What I meant was: You see where it says "SQUALL109" and the time attack bar?? where, those are hanging in the air, isnt there supposed to be a grey frame beneath it?

No.. There is only a grey bar when you use Gardian Forces.. And even if there is suppose to be, it doesn't affect the game at all..

Oh, cool. Thank you.
Now, since you have solved this problem: How can I see the battle swirls?

What i noted is taht you enabled the game fix in the special game fixes window but you didn't enable the game fixes option (in the box to the left of the game fixes phrase) in the main window where you select the resolution, color...
