FFIX Black screen : disc 3

Hi everyone, I've read several posts with similar problems but none seemed to resolve my issue.

On the third disc, I have everyone on my airship after winning the card game in treno, the little girl says something about "holy judgement" and jumps off the ship, then ... nothing - black screen.

I have been running from an ISO, i tried making another ISO several times with different programs, tried running off the CD, nothing. It doesn't appear to be scratched.

I have attached a memcard save at the closet possible location, right next to the Treno card hall where you have to play the final card champ. Im hoping someone who has beaten the game would be so kind as to use my attached mem save, get past the part when im stuck (after the girl jumps overboard) and re-attach a memsave at the closet location.

I've also tried older version of ePSXe, different CD and GPU plugins...no go.

Please help if you can..

Like I said, I have tried various plugin settings, mainly just OpenGL and software plugins.

Here are the settings I use :

Video : Pete's OGL 1.71

1024x768x32bit
Texture quality - R8 G8 B8 A8
Texture filtering - 4

Off-Screen drawing - 2 (Standard)
Framebuffer textures - 2 (GFX Card buffer)
Framebuffer access - 3 (GFX Card buffer reads & moves)
Alpha multipass - checked
Advanced blending - checked
Unfiltered framebuffer updates - checked
Special game fixes - checked (0x0001 & 0x0002 & 0x0200 & 0x1000)

Sound : Eternal SPU Plugin 1.30
Enable sound - checked
Enable CDDA Sound - checked
Enable XA Sound - checked

Thread - 8 buffer size
Update before accessing register - checked

CDROM : Mooby2 cd disk image driver 2.0

I have tried using petes software video plugin as well, same problem.

It is a copy of the game or the original CD?
cuz if you copied your CD from a friend's one, and if this one was scratched, then... you know...

>>Framebuffer access - 3 (GFX Card buffer reads & moves)

I don't know if this will help, but change this to 0, FF9 doesn't like Framebuffer access

Its an original CD, and it rips without any errors. I've tried changing the framebuffer access to 0, didn't help.

Try using Peops CDR 1.3 to read your CD, with your usual settings, and "Async read mode", IIRC, it has never fixed any issue of that kind, but you can try

Yes I have.

I have come to the conclusion that it is my CD that is *****ed. So I guess I will have to wait until I either see another copy for cheap or someone posts a save.
