Medievil Problem
I have an original PAL version of Medievil and it runs perfectly- until I attempt to start level 4 that is, The Mausoleum. At this point the game claims it can't recognise the CD and it freezes.
Does someone know what I can do about this and get it to continue running in ePSXe? If it's a CD check problem specific to ePSXe's code, does one of the other emulators get along better with Medievil? |

A) Does that work or is it a suggestion?
B) I don't know how. I'm entirely new to this scene. Is an ISO a straight CD image such as a .cdi made by disc juggler or is it something else? I may answer this question myself as I'm off to find some FAQs but if someone can answer these questions, or at least A, that'd be much appreciated

Even if you're using the original CD, the copy-protection doesn't allow you to play the game in an emu. without one of the tricks
we all know: 1/ subchannel reading 2/ PPF patching

I got the PPF patch for the European PAL version which I 'think' is what I have- it's definitely PAL, but I can't see anything labeling the geographic territory. How do you know which it is?
Anyway, I made a .cdi of Medievil and renamed it as a bin, then tried applying this ppf patch but it told me that it couldn't find the correct information inside the image. So either: A) I don't have the European version and refer to the question I asked earlier in this post. B) Renaming a cdi is not how you make a bin file and I'm a dumb-ass. If that's the case, how is a bin file made? I looked at the internet to answer this question myself but apparently it's such an obvious thing that noone bothers adressing it anywhere. Is there a program I need to extract a bin from a CD or convert a .cdi into a .bin? |

yoy can't patch a cdi with a PPF,
you'll have to make a bin with CDRwin, and then patch it Or you use the trick explained in the epsxe manual: -put the patch in the patch folder -rename it like the boot file of the game (SLES_xxx.xx) -set epsxe to autoapply PPF and run the game
