FF7 Controller Problem
You have to believe me when I say i've searched through the forum for a good 3 hours before I posted this.
I just purchased a fresh copy of FFVII hoping to play it on epsxe in all its pixel smoothing glory. I come home and make an iso using CDRWIN and launch epsxe with the default settings. The square logo comes up followed by the intro, but I can't seem to go past that. Even mashing my controller buttons (logitech wingman rumblepad) does nothing. I configure my gamepad to use the keyboard. Still nothing. Tried launching directly from the FF7 cd, and still nothing. Also, my gamepad works with every other game. I"m at a total loss to what to do here. I've attached my my Pete's OGL settings for what it's worth. I'm using the internal sound plugin, and the PEOPS cdr driver. TIA. Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.70 Author: Pete Bernert Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation GFX card: GeForce3/AGP/SSE/3DNOW! Did you set your pad in Analog mode in the ePSXe menus?
If yes, try pressing F5 (or F4, I don't recall), like on the real PSX, you need to disable the analog mode in order to play certain games, esp. the old ones

If you refer to the screen with the copyrights then you have to know that its a known issue that it lasts like 2 minutes in that screen. Then you cna make a savestate and you will never know of it again.
If its not that screen try enabling subchannel reading. |

Why subchannels? FF7 doesn't need them

question: does the game start w/o the controller plugged in and the ePSXe's gamepad 1 mapped as keyboard? because for now I can't understand why it could be ONLY a controller problem... it seems like the game doesn't start, but he didn't write that w/o the controller it started...
Btw, have u tried w/ P.E.Op.S. SoftGpu? And which FF7 version do u have, PAL or NTSC one? AFAIK, I never had problems starting FF7 NTSC... Thx, bye
