Why Doesn't Parasite Eve 2 (NTSC) Start?

When I try to play Parasite Eve 2 (NTSC) all I get is the intro screen and then just a black screen. The same happens on Disk 2. What's going on? I searched the forums for an answer but no one has figured ut how to fix it. There is no NTSC .ppf patch version for this game. Can anyone help please? It seems to look like its working in the dos screen but it doesn't. Thanks!

I tried making an ISO with WinISO but this is what happened. My friend let me borrow his back-up of his orginal Parasite Eve 2 game for a week and I don't know if the original had scratches or not cause I can't play it on a CD and I can't make an ISO. I also tried ISOBuster but it forze on me. Can someone help please? Thanks!

Ok, today at school my friend gave me the original game to borrow and the same thing happens. There aren't any major scratches on the CDs and when I tried to make an ISO the same thing also happens. Is there a patch or a command or a key that I have to press or use to get this thing to work? Thanks!

AFAIK in ePSXe version 1.5.1 you needed to add the -pe2 command at the command line, but in ePSXe 1.5.2 it's not needed anymore.
If you need this info I have the orginal NTSC U/C CDs of PE2 and I run the game flawlessly
Look at the ppf patch section on the PSX section ngemu.com/psx there is a PE2 patch, but I think is for PAL games don't remember exactly.

Here's my GPU settings:

Thans a lot dude. I tried your settings and started the game. I assumed that it would take forever so I went and made myself a sandwich but when I can back the intro movie was playing, at a very slow framreate, skipping and stuff. However I got to the Intro Screen and tried to start a game but it still froze. Maybe it is scratched up badly. Is there anything I can do to help this and make it playable some how? Thanks again!

NP, Glad to help. Mhh, maybe you could set the "try again on reading error" option under error handling on the pete's cdr plugin. Use Peops CDR plugin, other SPU plugin, the pete's D3D as well.
I ran out of ideas at the moment, but try that and see what happens.

Nope they all still don't fix it. I also tried to run it in PAL but nope. Im gonna try to load up a memory card save and if that doesn't work then Im gonna try playing it using another emulator.

Im having SORT of a similar problem...
Im running parasite eve 2 off of an iso..My cd version would mess up and skip on the intro, but turning it to ISO fixed that, and the intro cinematic runs great.

HOWEVER, whenever I choose "Start Game" The emulator shuts off and on the DOS screen it says :
Opcode 2f UNK <PC0000852c>
<1162,14>

Now, I have no clue what that means, and if no one has any ideas on how to start this game, could someone plz email me a statesave of the beginning, once peirce and aya begin to talk, or a memcard save...either or...
my email addy, if its somehow not showing, is hdizavidhz@wmconnect.com thnx
:confused:
