Problems with Speed Freaks........

I have just ripped this game with Clone CD and am running it off the hard drive. The first problem is that there are graphical glitches during the race - bits of scenery (trees and stuff) pop up eratically all over the screen, all the time. I then tried another track but it wont even load (the screen stays black). I reseted and tried again but it still wont load the other track - only the first one. Could it be a problem with the rip?

well, I've "Speed Freaks PAL" but it has been a long time since I played it for the last time.

Your plugins' specs? Have u tried using P.E.Op.S. soft gpu? And, if u used Pete's OGL/D3D, have u activated the special game fix (0x0008) made especially for "Speed Freaks"?

If I could find my "Speed Freaks" (I don't know where it's, I mean, I I left in Italy or take to Switzerland), I'll try to see what happen!

Thx, bye

I have tried the Special Game Fix in the video options, and this has fixed the graphical glitch, so thanks for the info. However, I still have the problem of the other tracks not loading. As I said, the first track is fine but the rest just dont load - the screen remains black. This also happens when running the game off the original game disc. Anyone know what is causing this problem? I really would appreciate any help as this seems like such a sweet game.

have u tried the patch from http://www.ngemu.com/psx/ppf.php? Maybe this should solve your problem Unzip the patch file and put it into /epsxe/patches/ dir, then start ePSXe...

As before Easter I couldn't have my "Speed Freaks" CD (my brother has it and he'll come back for Easter), I can't try it before, sorry

ok, DanteG, I'm at home and my brother got me "Speed Freaks".

Actually, I encountered the same problem as u: w/ Pete's D3D 1.70 and P.E.Op.S. SoftGpu 1.12 u can't start the 2nd race ("Neon City"), even w/ the special game fix on. So, as I had a patch for this game, that patch solved the problem

The patch is available at this link, so u can try it and let us know your results. Please unzip it in the /epsxe/patches/ dir and then enalbe the "autoload ppf file" from the Options menu on ePSXe.

Thx, bye
