Super Robot Wars Alpha Gaiden Problem

Hi, I'm having a problem with Super Robot Wars Alpha Gaiden (PSX) on ePSXe 1.52 and pcsx 1.3 and 1.4. The game goes well except for when I go into battle. When I start fighting, it goes really slow but then gradually picks up the pace. Is there any way to keep the game smooth and consistant?

I'm running the game from the CD but I want to run it from Iso. I've tried to make it into an iso but that didn't work. What program is best for this and how do I do it? I have the original copy of the game which is brand new.

I use CloneCD, which can be found @ www.elby.de . Although it is Shareware you can produce as many Images as you like. For best quality use the Profile I attatched (Unzip it into your CloneCD\profiles folder).
