Are there any known problems with FF9
If so, are there any patches? My game freezes after the "theatre fight" in the castle (Disc 1, beginning of the game). Everything goes black. (the disc is fine, no scratches!) I´m using epsxe 1.5.2 on a AMD Athlon XP 1800 with Creative Geforce 2 MX400 & 512 DDR. |

well, simply. if you are using the PAL version of FF9, you ll need a patch for it to work
patchs can be found here http://www.ngemu.com/psx/ppf.php

sorry, i should have elaborated before.
I was talking about Pete OpenGL plugin first of all, upgrade it to the latest version second of all, post all configuration setting here ( theres a useful button on the right hand corner in the configuration menu which you can use- "copy settings to clipboard" ) get the latest version from here: http://www.ngemu.com/psx/plugins/win...gpupete168.zip

Perhaps I should add that even if the game is frozen (incl. the sound, sounds like a sine function), I´m still able to pause the game, and reset it by pressing L1+L2+R1+R2+Start+Select.

Hmm... only thing I can think of is that the CD is not reading properly for whatever reason. You may wish to try making an ISO.

I made an ISO (tried both clone cd and nero) but the game wont load, the screen gets all blank. I even tried to wait for a mindblowing 10! minutes
but nothing happened...Here is a screenshot:

I have tried on 2 different cdroms and with different plugins, but still ending up with a blank screen after the "theatre fight".
I´ve tried different video plugins and settings too, but it wont work. :hmm: I´m begining to suspect there is something weird with the disc (which should be fine) so I´m downloading an iso from a friend to see if that one works better. While waiting, I´m gonne get some sleep zZzZzZzZzZzzz
