Help with playing games

Hey,

i *tried* to post before but it didnt seem to want to work...anyway

Games = FF9, THPS3


im trying to play PSX games on ePSXe and they dont seem to work. I've tried creating ISO's, tried running them of the originial CD. I've read Kane's tutorials on trying to get FF9 to work and other various tut's and nothings worked yet, i get the black screen of death

About the ff9 if its a pal version you need to download a ppf patch (Look in the download database here, in ngemu) and use it selecting it with a cd rom plugin capable of it. (Pete's, Mooby's)

ok, i got the ppf patch...but im having trouble still :|

i've got Mooby's CD Plugin, but the THPS iso doesnt work with it :| and i cant even make a iso with my FF9 cd cause its scratched and stops at 87%...

any idea?

Ok.

i have Tony Hawks working from the original CD only and the sound is a little bit, jumpy.

FF9 doesnt run at all . I have the PPF patches, put them in the patches directory. It loads up the "patch page" then says "Press X to load PAL version". I press X and the game just stops dead.
Any idea now???

About tony hawk and the sound the problem is related to one of two things.Try another sound plugin like the eternal one instead of the internal one. Or maybe it can be due to the delay it causes if its read from the cd (therefore its using an iso is suggested). Maybe the iso you are making its bad. try using isobuster. It has a good option with scratched cds (you can retry and retry on every scratch the times you like and if you have done it like 20 times and it still is not read then you can fill the space with zeros, although the game may freeze when it comes to the bad part.). And the isos it makes are perfectly readable for the epsxe.

About the ppf patch. Does the patch makes appear the screen with "press x" message? Sorry i have not tried since i have a ntsc version. If its not the patch then its a pirated version and it has problem with epsxe.

for the iso for THPS im using WinISO which is meant to be a pretty good ISO maker. I'll try another plugin

Yeh the patch comes up with a press x message for pal. It has like a trainer at the start of the game because of patch :\ Oh, btw its not pirated

Well, the just try the peops plugin. Yes i now its a software one. Just use it to pass the first part and then change to a video one.
Every time you have problems with the harware ones just rry the software ones.
