FF8 problems

OK, I've tried both the original CD's and an ISO/.bin file, both patched, but it freezes up on the Squaresoft logo. I'm using Pete's GPU plugin.
I've already checked Kane's site.

System specs:
P2 Celeron at 366MHz
160 Meg RAM
Geforce2 mx 400

Did you try using the subchannel option of ePSXe instead of patching the whole game?

Just to be sure, wait a while, cause on some systems, this part gets really slow.

Weird, I remember there's a FMV right at this moment, so your cd may be scratched.

Save states are well known for creating some issues with FMVs in some games, try to get memcards working(try to press F4 before saving).

I tried waiting for about 5 minutes: nothing. Anyway, doesn't the Square logo go away if you hit the start button (or whatever)? It did with FFIX.

You can already X away the "Published by Square Europe (or similar) Ltd."
