FF7 Vids - Help?

I've looked through the forum and it seems that I am the only one with this problem, so here I go. I just bought a copy of FF7, and have set the settings according to what everyone else has set them (a list will follow anyways). Sound is FINE, but when a VIDEO plays, w/ the exception of the opening video w/ aeris, (an example is when the reacter explodes in the beginning) the sound plays but I just get a GRAY SCREEN. if any sprites are on the screen they also appear, but they are just FLOATING in the mid-gray area. Help? Also, my computer is like 1.5 GHZ w/ a bunch of ram (i'm lazy so i wont go find it). and the video card works with brand new computer games so it should work here too.

Here's my video settings for epsxe (v. 1.5.2).

Pete's D3D Driver 1.50

Resolution: 1024x768
Color depth 32 bit
Texture quality: R8 G8 B8 A8 - Best colors, more ram needed
Filtering: 0: None
Catching Type: 2: Dynamic - Recommended! Usually the best speed with no glitches
Off-Screen drawing: 4: Extended - Can cause garbage
Advanced blending: 0: None
Alpha Multipass is checked
Frambuffer Textures: 0: Emulated vram - FVP needed
Special Game Fixes: FF7 text box fix.

Thanks in advance. (I'll attatch a pic of what happens w/ the videos)

Done. While the game DOES look better, the same video problem still occurs.

I should update w/ my new settings (I still get the problem) Oh BTW, I also have run FFIX with NO, repeat NO problems. I find it strange that I get problems with this game. Anyways... (if I don't mention something its b/c it isn't changed)

Pete's D3D Driver 1.68
Texture filtering: 4: Extended w/o Sprites - unfiltered 2D
Gfx card vram size: 32 MBytes
Smart texture garbage collection and Faster palettized texture windows are checked.
Off-Screen drawing: 4: Extended - Can cause garbage
Advanced blending: 1: Software- Slower and glitches
Framebuffer Textures: 2: Gfx card buffer - Can be slow
Framebuffer access: 3: Gfx card buffer reads & moves
Alpha Multipass checked
Special Game fixes: FF7 text box fix

Oh and now I get some odd lines while playing... I've seen this on other posts so I'll investigate there. Thanks again!

Have you tried running from an ISO? As this sounds like a CD reading issue.

Try using PEOPs soft Gpu with 1:1 ratio stretching, my game work that with FF9, if you find it small, make it full screen with 320 x 240 resolution, that way, it will be full screen..

It has something to do with framebuffer texture and framebuffer access try 2 and 3 respectively and see.
Or simply lower your offscreen drawing to 2.
I remember when using lewpy's plugin that if a did not have tha framebuffer and offscreen drawing activated properly cloud would appear without the video, floating in the middle of nothing.
