Castlevania:SotN Music Problem

Hello, I've seen a few a post about this elsewhere but none of the suggestions I saw helped. In SotN, whether I use a cd or an ISO, the music is skippy -- the sound is fine, it's only the music. I've tried using Eternal SPU 1.30, ePSXe core 1.5.2, and Pete's Dsound 1.15.
AMD 1.66 ghz processor
Sound Blaster Audigy
512 mb ram
I'm relatively new to the PSX emulation scene, please help me out.
Thanks
