Pre-battle effects on FF8...

Is there a way to cut these out? they take a while and make a really annoying sound.

Thanks for any help you can offer

The fastest way: Use P.E.Op.S Soft Driver. It runs the complete swirl without slowdowns!

That's only if you have a fast CPU. But I didn't need to say that.

I don't think these pre battle effects in FF8 are framebuffer related.. Lower your offscreen drawing to 2, but it may make your battle menu dissappear..

nope-.... setting framebuffer to black turns off the colored effect of the prebattle screen, lowering the time it takes to be processed

Hi Antonio Jose. I had the same problem, and itīs very easy to solve: turn on the frameskipping configuration in your gpu plugin, and let the plugin find the best framerate. It works fine for me.

nah.... it will workmfor sure... but then the in ame battle will get way too much cut...... and it won't look fine.... unless you use the in game configuration in Pete's plugins and just turn frameskip on when you need it (the pre batel effect)
