Hot Wheels Turbo Racing

Apparently nobody plays this great game.

I searched the Net and found a forum /site (I think it was Aldo Vargas's). Someone using the name "Oolong Tea" posted that he had created a game.txt file that fixed "Hot Wheels Turbo Racing" and some glitches in both Megaman Legends games. The game.txt file reputedly made it run on VGS system.

Unfortunately, this guy was bitter and nasty and said he won't give it to anybody.

There are others who have had the problem and posted messages (even on this site) but for some reason they never show up in a search.

Aldo Vargas has a cool front-end program called "MyGameList" That sets up all your PS isos from any folder and lets you categorize them and set each to launch with different programs (ePSXe, VGS, Bleem!, PSEmu, and real PS.) It also has a function to get the game ID it says that "Hot Wheels Turbo Racing" ID is SLPS_012.20.

Has anyone had any luck with this and will it work with ePSxe? I bought 2 copies of "Hot Wheels Turbo Racing" and created isos of each. They all play the movie-intro and then go to a black screen.

Re: Hot Wheels Turbo Racing & This Is Football 2

All I can say is that when my friend brought over his CD, it worked for me. It was easily a year ago, so all I can say is use different bioses....

Question Hot Wheels Turbo Racing PSx Bios

Well, thanks for the tip but I tried every bios using CD and isos (2 different CDs-both Original-no copy).

When you tried the game a year ago, did you actually play it or just view the opening movie. The movie seems to work great but the system goes black after it. Yours is the first posting I've seen of this game working.

Maybe it's my graphics card.

Exclamation

time to reheat this thread

I have a Hot Wheels Turbo Racing CD, and i have the same problem. I've checked the game in two computers (a p4 2.15ghz with XP and a Celeron 700 with WinMe). I'm using the US BIOS.

Where i can found that "game.txt" fix for Hot Wheels?

EDIT: My game CD has the ID SLUS_009.64 according with ePSXeCutor.

Man, I've been looking everywhere trying to get Hot Wheels Turbo Racing to run.
Please tell me that someone knows how to get it running in any emulator.
I would greatly appreciate any help.

Yeah, I've tried pretty much every emulator, different bioses, different plugins, all different combinations. (well, maybe not every combo for every emulator, that would take an extremely long time)
I created a bin/cue image and verified it with isobuster and cdmage.
No luck, it boots up and plays the opening movie, then hangs after that on every emulator.
It's an ntsc disc, and my specs are:
Pentium 4 1.7 ghz
Windows Xp Pro Service Pack 1
Ati radeon 9600 pro 128 mb
768 mb ram
All drivers are up to date. By the way, this is the only game I have a problem with, i'm not exactly a noob.
If anyone has gotten this to play on an emulator and could share their tips, I would be grateful, thanks.

hm well, i dont have the game so i cant test it out. beyond general advice i dont know what else to tell you then, other than read this thread, search more, and explore more with every emulator you can find, as it seems it only works with VGS.

there is a possibility that it doesnt work at all on PSemu pro based emulators man :/

Hot Wheels - Turbo Racing

add me to that list as well.

Game plays fine in modded psx, but can't run in ANY emulator past the opening vid. tried psxeven, sssx, ePSXe (preferred choice) and even VGS, nothing will load past this screen.

I've tried from iso images, I've tried with the cd in the drive, I even tried getting a .ppf patch for it and re-burning it... to no avail.

Please, if ANYONE has gotten this game to play on ANY emulator, please give me the magic formula... I'm going nuts over this one.

Oh, and the video sequences in Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions are a little wonky too
