>> Let me be the first to say that Lord Kanes Website is the most unhelpful thing in existence and Id rather be kicked in the balls then go there.
And then I will be the first to kick you right in the balls of yours for not going there when you encounter problems with FF games running on ePSXe.

Spliff_Monkey18, your problem is pretty well explained in Kane's website, so just ignore the crappy post provided by Nigandahu.
Here's a quote from kanes website regarding to your problem:
Quote:
If you want full effects (battle swirls, etc), you have 2 options:
- Set Off-Screen Drawing to 4, set Framebuffer textures to 2 and set Framebuffer access to 3, or
- If you have FSAA on, Set Off-Screen Drawing to 4, set Framebuffer textures to 0, and set Framebuffer Textures to 4.

EDIT: Moved the thread.

I'm sorry, but I just have to congratulate you on that post. Lord Kane will probably kick me in the balls for saying this, but I half agree with you, and I am currently convulsed in laughter over your post, simply because of the imagery of it.

I sincerely thank you.

Really. It was simply done using the plugin docs as some people are simply too lazy by half to read them.

:hmm: have to backup kane here. I always find it funny how ppl are willing to wait a day or to find out the answer to a problem when they could read the answer in a matter of 10 minutes I guess it has something to do with the innate laziness within all of us...

I just did anor look over the site, ad there is no real way I can make it simpley without giving poeple spesific fonfigs for different machines, which isn't something I want to do. Futhermore, there are configs for the BATARD tool on the site if you are really lazy.

Well, maybe thats what I was looking for and I guess I was looking for the wrong thing. I needed a config that would work for my machine, and all I found was "well you COULD do it this way, or maybe THIS way, or maybe even THIS way". I was like WTF, how the hell is that different then figureing it out on my own? Then there were some files that are for lord knows what that said they were for the configs but had no explanation as to what they are. Kane just said something about Batard tools or something, whatever the hell those are. I think a better way of doing it WOULD be to offer a few configs for Nvidia cards and a few configs for ATI cards for the final fantasy games. So theres my reasoning behind my earlier statement.

P.S. Please make it more simpley, with spesific fonfigs!!!

Ok

Lets look at an example ff9

there are 4 types of graphics cards (OGL,D3D,Glide and software). So that 4 configs

There are 2 popular spus so that brings us up to 8 (not considering the fact that each soundvard needs a different buffer setting)

We can either have cd or iso so that us up to 16.

This game has copy protection (each of the 7 regions would need one also) so now we have got 112!

This is just for 1 game and I'm over generalising. But the point I am trying to make is illustrated well enough. It is just not feasible to make specific configs. Do like the rest of us and experiment. Or lisen to the advice that ppl give out on these forums.

It's simple enough to make configs for one machine (mine).
I could then add a 3DFX config for my machine without too much trouble, but the problem is this:
Everyone has their own setup which is more or less powerful than my own. Everyone has their own preferences on how things look on the screen which differs from my own.
If I made configs for everyone, it'd be a massively huge work load, and it'd be huge in size, and people would still never be satisfied.
What I did was make a compromise, and make sure that the general page explains all the options in enough detail, and the specific games pages explain only what is 'required' for that game.

Nigandahu, no offense, but you really are a lazy idiot. I think that it would be smartest to simply figure out what works best for your computer yourself rather than use the configs that work for someone else's computer.

I still think your post is the funniest crap I've read in years though.

Kane, I'm really sorry, but it's always struck me as strange that you have general purpose configs on your site when I have about 5 configurations that I use for a single game.

Honto desuka?
I have a general config which is used for Coolboarders/2/4, Tekken, Soul Edge, Dead or Alive, Tombi, Tenchu/2, and Kula World. Most of my RPGs use similar configs, the only reason that they have different configs in the emu is because they all have their own memcards.

Believe it or not, Im actually not a lazy idiot. I did configure the games on my own 8 months ago when I originally asked for help on this game and was personally directed to kanes site. Imagine my surprise as I found nothing but a deserted wasteland of even more confusion. So I did do the configuration on my own and hav beat both FF7 and FF9 on my comp. To Kanes surprise: I did it all without full vram primates!!!

Lord knows why kane tells people to use that when even my p4, GF4 TI4400 hated it.

The whole reason of my current tirade is because every once in awhile when I would check these forums, I would find another helpless bastard being directed to kanes site with no explanation other then 'Go <a href="http://www.kaneblows.com">HERE!!!</a>' So I decided to let it be known once and for all my opinion: Kanes site blows goats for quarters, and the goats are overcharging!!
