Stuttering Problem with Digimon World 2

I would like some help. Every time an attack is made on DW2 the game stutters for about 5 seconds twice in a row. That is a lot of stuttering. Here are my computer's data type stuff.

Pentium 4
1.6 GHz
256 MB RAM

Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.50
Nice Default

ePSXe SPU core 1.4.0.

ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.4.0.

Any help please

Forget it, after about three hours of fiddling, I managed to think of switching from the CD-ROM drive to my DVD drive. The problem vanished almost completely, and is not unbearable anymore.
