DYING with Legend of Dragoon Frustration !!

phew now that i have that out....
anyways first post unfortunatly has to be a negative one...

so ill start off by saying hello to everyone here =p

k heres my problem =/

im running epsxe version 1.52
im using petes 1.66
the default audio (but ive tried with 1.30 eternal also)
and running from iso not cd so just using moobys plugin
also using windows xp for the record

to clarify ahead of time ive tried most settings im posting here out of frustration that maybe i overlooked something or something i completely dont know...

tried resolutions from lowest to 1280x1024
tried 7502 and 1001
tried with / without AA and AF (in vid card settings)
mingled / battled with constant restarting of LoD after changing settings 100x

attempting to run legend of dragoon like this if i can though...
1024x768
32bit color
R8G8B8A8
texture filtering 0
gfx ram 64
garbage collection on
faster texture windows on
hi res textures off
use fps limit on (autodetect)
offscreen drawing 4
framebuffer 3
framebuffer access 4 (unless 3 looks better ? im clueless on this one)
multipass on
mask bit on
advanced blending on
special game fixes on (the LoD one)

and now for my problem

mind you this is completely spontaneous, happens whenever it feels like it.. sometimes right away .. sometimes after 15 minutes but its not a very comfortable way to play an rpg

ill be playing and ill get (again spontaneously) little skips , like stutters... just once in awhile.. like a nanosecond freeze and it may just be me but it seems like this is usually when it happens

it = my epsxe will completely crash right to desktop sometimes it freezes up i get repeating sound and a still frame then the error message saying "espxe has caused an error and will now close" other times it just crashes to that error... like i said its random and it may just be me it might happen other times too aside of the stutters . (probably)
anyhow this also happens in final fantasy 7 havent had it happen in any other games though..

its terrible i cant play the game until i find out whats doing it..
maybe someone that has a similar rig can list theyre 100% running settings and i can try them for starters.. even though i mustve used every single combonation possible =/

also i dont want to insult anyones pc knowledge but if anyone knows if the game for some reason (or epsxe for that matter) requires a swapfile ? because i have mine disabled since i have enough memory.... just guessing / shooting in the dark that that could be doing it maybe ? some progs require a swap some dont.. fortunately mine dont.. unless epsxe does...

also ive had troubles in the past with running with system bios and video memory cacheable disabled in the bios on a certain game (pc game).. which i know is weird but i quit playing that game so i re disabled them ... out of curiosity if anyone knows if epsxe requires this maybe ? lol...

anyhow you guys get the idea.. sorry about the super long post and ive browsed this forum for quite some time before registering and everyone seems very helpful so hopefully someone can help me with this very very frustrating problem cause im out of ideas =)
