First Of All, Didnt know excatly where to put this . this forum seems like a good choice .
Now to the main event. The Legend of dragoon is a fantastic RPG made by sony herself, but for the bad reason, it had numerous annoying and reaptive problems with ePSXe . now, after they are all solved , i just wanted to post the 'guide' to get it perfectly working , so other guys who like me looked a fix for those problems . this is such a great game (imho) and i want everyone to enjoy it . well, off we go : 1) Use the SCPH 7502 BIOS . It seems other bios's doesnt even load this game . it seems weird that a NTSC bios is needed to play even the PAL version, but this is how it is . 2) Search the NGEmu.com site for the PPF section (dont have the link right now) , and get the pff patchs for this game . put them in ePSXe\Patches , and turn on 'Auto PPF Patcher' on in ePSXe . to insure that you will have no problems after this , you could make ISO's and patch them aswell with the Paradox Anti-MOD patch (which i cant attach or link to for obvious reasons) . After these two, im pretty sure that the only problem left is either hardware or settings . anyway, this finnaly solves the long Protection issues with game and ePSXe . Hope This Help In Some Way Or Contributes anyone . |

Thanks for the info Chaos Dragoon, but I really think it belongs in problems with games.

So I'm using the 7502 BIOS and have now put those patches into the patch dir, as well as upgrading to the latest version of epsxe (I was using 1.4.0 before and had the same problem), and it hasn't changed my situation at all.
I can run either CD 1 or CD 2 fine, and even change from CD 2 to CD 1 if necessary, for example when running the second CD and choosing to start a new game. However, when I load up my game at the end of the first CD and try to change to CD 2, I get booted with the following output from the emulator: (+subchannel) * Init ISO code ... ok * NTSC cdrom detected. * Closing spu ... * Closing gpu ... * Shutdown gpu ... * Closing ISO system. SPEC Opcode 1f UNK (PC 000000b0) (000000b0) (291873,40) Can anyone tell me what the problem could be? |

i use 1001 bios and it loads up my legend of dragoon perfectly... then again i had to patch the game to play on my modded psx.
my legend of dragoon (original copy) is still perfect... no dust, no finger prints, no scratches. i only used it to make the isos for it to be patched.

Where do you get the patches gamer1 and what do they do for you EPSXE?
My legend of Dragoon also works semi-flawlessly, (albiet fast or slow though depending on how i set the limit.. but what the heck better for additions right?) and i also use the scph1001 bios.

Well turning it off is a matter of disabling framebuffer access and setting framebuffer textures to black.
Setting it up right? Couldn't tell you. Ain't got round to playing this yet.

instanoodles , play with the framebuffer settings to get the battle swirls right .
the only glitches i had are with dart's armor shoulder piece getting semi-transparent some times , so the hand is shown out of the armor .. besides that no filtering and the special fix should take care of most . |
