A question of a newbie....

the software plugins uses de power of PROCESSOR, or the GFX CARD? if power of processor...i dont care buy a high-end gfx card and buy a duron, atlhon or p4 to play all games on epsxe and vgs(this i know .its uses processor power and lv2 cache if exists..)

software rendering is handled by the processor, very little work is done by gfx card

yup, thats true,..but i prefer GPU rendering than software. if you used software rendering plugin, the graphics will probably be unclear, while hardware plugins uses the 3D cards to produce nice smooth textures

But software-drawn graphics will look more like a PSX than hardware-drawn

True, but taht's why some of us emulate rather than use the real thing

Nigazallucard, if software gaphics is what you want, then why even use ePSXe? Just use VGS or a real PSX because that is the type of graphics that you are going to get w/a software GPU. However, if you would like to see the games the way, I believe, they were ment to be seen, then get a decent 3D video card (if you don't already have one) and try out one of the many 3D accelerated graphics GPUs out there. Then you'll see your PC, PSX games, and ePSXe really shine.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

That is great Nigazallucard, I am certain that you will be very happy that you did. Here is a screen shot from Gauntlet Legends (a 3d PSX game) to show how nice 3d graphics can look w/a nice 3d card.
sincerely,

Hehe. I love my Geforce 4. :-D Ever since I got my new computer it's been like a jump from below average to overkill in processing power and graphics rendering. haha. first computer was a crummy IBM with only DOS... lol... pain. Second was a piece of crap that was only good for solitaire... win3.5 solitaire.. haha... third was actually fairly decent... ATI rage card and 350 MHz.... hehe... but it really had nothing on Geforces power... :-D I wouldn't want to game without it. Dungeon Seige is great looking with it. Wish I could post a shot, hehe, but I don't have any space that would allow me to link an image from. :-p
