tales of destiny

I have read the epsxe faqs on this one and it still doesn't work. The problem is that when I try to play tales of destiny it gives me a blank screen, as I said I tried everything, is there a way that I can pass the black screen. I even tried making into an iso, and it still doesn't work. any help will be appreciated.

thanks

ToD worked fine here. Maybe if you post some more details on your system and plugin configuration I'll be able to be of more help. Also, are you using a PAL or NTSC copy?

it a ntsc copy and I'm using epsxe 1.5.2 with pete's Opengl driver 1.62 video plugin.

the configuration are:

texture quality : don't care
texture filtering: 4
smart texture garbage collection: on
faster palattized texture window: off
off-screen drawing: 4
framebuffer texture: 0
alpha multipass: on
mask bit: off
advanced blending: on

and everything under misc is off

If I should use a different plugin or configuration please tell me.

thanks

Pete's OpenGL is the best choice if you have a TNT2 or a GeForce video card. Other cards may be faster with D3D.

About the issue, some questions:

1) Which version of Windows are you using?
2) Which CD-Rom plugin are you using?
3) Which tool did you use when creating the ISO?
4) Have you tested the CD in a original Playstation, just to make sure it's working fine?

BTW, there's no need to manually copy your settings, use the "Copy Settings to Clipboard" button the in plugin configuration, then paste in information here.

Hey Badaro

I'm using windos 98 second edition, and for my cd drive plugin I'm using ePSXe CDR ASPI core 1.5.2. as for the tool I used was ISOProducer, and yes I know the game works on a ps, for sure.

Thanks

By the way I'd just like to point out that for a TNT2 card, D3D is a better option.

Now, with your problem. It could be that there is a problem initializing the emu. When it crashes - before you quit does it have any error messages in the command box that sits behind the main emu window?

Some things to do:

- Switch from full-screen to windowed, and check if there are any error messages in the DOS box;
- Try a differente CD-Rom plugin (Pete's, SaPu's or Xeven's);
- Try making an ISO with BlindWrite or ISOBuster, see if it works.

is it possible the tales of destiny will work on an older version of epsxe, because I hears that some game work on the older version than the 1.5.2 version. That was true for megaman x5, It might be true for tales of destiny. does anyone know if this is true?

thanks

Negative. ToD is working fine here, using ePSXe 1.5.2 (see screenshot). And so it Megaman X5, BTW.

I suspect ou have something misconfigured in the CD-ROM section, and that's why I want you to check the DOS box for errors. Those are usually quickly identified there.
