Xenogears Black Screen
I toyed around with some of the plugins before posting this message. All i get is a black screen of doom when i try to play.
Intel Celeron 667Mhz GeForce2 MX200 32MB PCI 256MB SDRAM I'm not sure if this is the problem but i used CDClone to make an image. It made the image an ".img" file. I'm assuming this is causing the trouble but i have no clue. |

Is it actually showing signs of reading the CD (or image)? My game shows a black screen and is not detcted unless I turn off CD read-ahead in Pete's CD plug-in. I have no idea why, but I think it might have to do with how the game is stored on the disk-- if you explore the CD (or an image booted as a CD), only the initial program file, and the game lable are present. The rest is not detected by Windows, and, at least for me, can only be read when I set the plug-in to read sector by sector. Using the image as a ISO is another way to do it, or just loading the ISO as a virtual CD-ROM, in which case the disabled caching doesn't affect the speed too dramatically.
At any rate, the graphics plug-in has nothing to do with it if ePSXe can't read the CD in the first place, so you should work on allowing it to detect the CD if it is not already doing so. |
