Ok here is the best I can do. I was playing Xenogears and I noticed that when I start the game that the screen is black and there are occasional flashes of red. I have no idea what could be causing these problems. i have had problems with other games like FF9 but that was only when battleing and the status of the characters would be flashy and the battle would be slow. I heard there was some sort of fix for Xenogears. Any help would be appreciated.

My particular Xenogears problem was similar, though I don't specifically remember red flashes. At any rate, if nothing else works, try messing with the CD plug-in functions just to make sure it is _actually reading_ the game-- mine won't actually detect the presence of the disk unless I disable read-ahead caching.
