Save Failed in Xenogears

Hi I started Xenogears today and when im trying to save i only get the message saving failed
i tried it with a new memory card and with memory cards that already had savegames on them
Anyone knows how to solve this problem?

i pressed it now during saving but again
save failed
other games can save

try before. if that doesn't work, then sorry, it's all i can think of.

edit: i never ran into any saving problems w/ xenogears but i did w/ wipeout 3 and i'm still trying to fix those, it won't even identify my memory card!

your solution, IIRC is somewhere in the forums. try searching for it using the search function.

i personally didn't have problems saving to the memcard w/ xenogears too.

IIRC some ppl have issues with memorycards if they have used save states. Try starting the game and only using memory cards.

i searched the forum

i searched, couldn't find anything about failed saves
will try the thing without savestates

this how you fix this problem. You can use save state just copy one save to the other memory card and you should be able to save after that. Then just load from a memory card every time you play then use the save state.

There's actually an easier method... format the memory card using another square game which supports in game memory card formatting (ff6 and ff9 spring to mind) then the memory card and savestates work as normal.

This doesn't work...Not for Xenogears that is. I tried FF Origins instead of FF9, saved the game, but it still would not save on Xenogears.
