XenoGears/FFT No Sound during CG -- & XG Runs Choppy
Using Pete's DirectX6 D3D 1.62. I've tried both P.E.Op.S. DSound Audio Driver 1.1 and ePSXe SPU core 1.5.2. for sound. I'm using the ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2. for CDROM. I'm running XP on a GeFroce4400 with Detonator Drivers 28.82.
1 ) fixed [thx strider] -- During CG movies in XG & FFT there is no sound. Maybe some sound plugins don't work well?? I've tried both (listed above). 2 ) After the intro movie in XG and the long intro nariation during the first scene (were the town is burning down) it lags like crap. I can't even play . I've tried Standerd , Standerd w/o sprites, etc. Anybody play XG and get it to run good?- Thanks HAL9k Last edited by HAL9000; June 27th, 2002 at 07:10. |

try going to configure sound and make sure all the below are checked off
enable sound (select to enable ADPCM sound) Enable CDDA Sound (Select to enable CDROM sound) Enable XA sound (Selevt to enable XA sound in MDEC) Enable SPU URQ hack (need in some games) i dont remember which one it is for movies but i think its the third one... anyways, try turning them all on... theyre below the bar where you choose your sound plugin

Suggested Fixes 1) Try using a soft plugin for this scene, all the framebuffer calls are already in software, so there will be no noticable slowdown. 2) Use GFX card buffer fo framebuffer textres and make sure that Full Screen Anti Aliasing is off 3) Set Framebuffer textures to 0, and enable Full vRam primatives. Please note that this is for 1.62, I still haven't had a chance to play with 1.63, as I'm not at my computer.

1.63 had vasty improved this situation. On my machine the framebuffer section now run at full speed. I advise you download this one ASAP.
For these sections to work correctly set the framebuffer access option to 4.
