Problem with Final Fantasy 7
I cant seem to get Final Fantasy 7 to work with the ePSXe emulator. I've tried playing it with the actual FF7 discs and it doesnt work and i've tried playing it with my backup copies and it still doesnt work. When I try to play it freezes up at the beginning sony screen. Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me?

Be patient. The logo is displayed for an unusually long amount of time. (At least for me. I thought it had hung too
). You may also have to press f5 to get your pad to respond.

sithspawn: Did you try the f5/f4 trick above? Another thing to try is to start the emu with the -nomdec option to disable the intro. That might get you further.

Hey,
I'm having the same problem as jfuller was - Final Fantasy VII freezes at the "Sony" screen. I'm running an ISO from ISOBuster and I've followed Lord Kane's config directions. I've run the game before on this computer, but had to erase everything and I'm now trying to get it all working again. The only thing *I* can think of is that my ISO is somehow messed up. I usually use Blindwrite, but couldn't get it, so I've fought all night with ISOBuster (and everything else I saw suggested), so I could *very easily* done something wrong. Anyway, longer than I ment it to be, but does anyone know how to fix this?! Thanks, ~Kairi CC ^.^ |

Yep - won't work at all - I went through all this... oh, six months ago when I first tried to use the discs, but then I had blindwrite and it had no trouble.
On an up note, I did get past the "Sony" screen, it just took about five minutes to do so. I've actually gotten to the "New Game/Continue" page, but everything is freakishly slow. I've played w/ the FPS a bit trying to fix it, but I really don't know what to do there. Any help? ~ Kairi CC ^.^ |

Well you could use Save states once you've loaded the game....

No I mean, load up the game, and start using save states to bypass the slow bits.
F1 to save, F3 to load.

Erm... I'm not really sure, but I have run this game before and I know it works. I'm pretty sure the problem is my FPS, but I still haven't gotten it to work - I've been playing w/ the limit and searching for posted specs that work...

I have another problem, facing me in FF7.. in the last Combat between the AVALANCHE adn Sephiroth.. the game give me a message that is "error code data # 7xx, press start select... to reset) and the fighting is finished as if I won the battle,
the most thing I hate when I play it in PC version, it hangs at bugenhagen, and other places, but the PSX version showing glitches at the end, last 7 or 8 battles, the same thing, any suggestions!! |
