Legend of Legia choppy game play

I'm using espxe 1.7.0 on LoL with the actual disc in my computer. I've used other games with the .ISO files and they work fine, but LoL is choppy when i do any Hyper/Super Arts or use Ra-Seru spells. It seems that the actual sound is partitioned and those parts are played 2 or 3 times over so that the sound 'stays with the video' because the video is pretty laggy. Also, the cut scenes are REALLY bad and take a lot more time than normal (my PS stopped reading discs some time ago...).

Is there any way that I can fix this? If I used an ISO instead, would that work?

You should probably post the video plugin settings you're using. It would help in maybe finding a solution. It could be a bad configuration after all.

we need to know your system specs as well, specifically your cpu, video card and O/S.

psx emulation cheater 2.5 with Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9 (default settings).
I've tried the Refresh rate at Max/Middle/Min.

Amd Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600+ (2.9GHz), 4GB DDR2 800(1x2GB, 2x1GB) RAM.
Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit with a NVidea GeForce 9800 GT Video Card.
