Final Finatasy IX serious lag issues!!
Hey guys. This is my first post. I started playing FFIX a few days ago on Epsxe 1.7.0 using the settings I had for FFVII (they worked perfect for FFVII). On FFIX it over all played well except for lagging a bit here and there during battle. I tried tweaking the video & sound configs to fix that but ended up comepletly losing the settings I had for FFVII which I had found somewhere on the web (either here or youtube) and cannot find again. Now the game lags in every aspect, not just fighting; even when I set the video config to very low quality it runs. . .bad. Any suggestions? My specs: Windows Vista on HP dv4 laptop with an AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core Moblile RM-74 2.20 Ghz processor with 4 GB of RAM and an ATI RADEON HD 3200 with 512 MB of memory. (Im not too computer savvy, I hope thats enough information.) Last edited by manmade; 2 Weeks Ago at 06:37.. |

if it is currently set to auto-detect you probably need to set the VRAM amount manually (512 for your case) in the video plugin config.

Ok, just tried that. Its working a little better now, which is weird becasue I've tried that before . . . Also can sound configuration make a difference on the game performance? (using eternal SPU Plugin 1.41) And finally . . . Under Select/ Config Main Video plugin (I'm using Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9) there is the Configure Soft Video plugin in option which when i click on it opens up P.E.Op.S Soft Driver 1.17. Is that supposed to be there? Could it be that since both are--im going to guess--running, that they might both be bogging down the game play causing lag?
