Help with EPSX 1.7

I just got done downloading this and configuring what I needed to. I'm trying to play FFIX (Final Fantasy 9). now, I went to Run ISO, then chose the .IMG file. It freezes the program up and then crashes it. I can't think of any other way to run this game. Anyone have any suggestions?

Anyways, have you tried any other games? Also, did you try any other pulgins?

Do you have a BIOS?

Go to Run > Enable Logs and restart the emulator. When you try to play the game, what does it say in the logger (the DOS window)?
