Problem with sound

Good afternoon.I play FFVII and suddenly the sound stopped playing.I have a Realtek HD audio card and it worked well but it's just stopped.I even formatted the hard disk, reinstalled windows and yet it won't work as it did.Any suggestions?

You know, that kind of thing happened to me years back. My sound would suddenly disappear. Check your Volume control thing (in the right corner, near the time). The WAVE slider was down when that happened to me. I don't know why that happened, though...

EDIT: Since you reinstalled Windows, have you installed your sound drivers again? Or maybe your sound card is dead?

Nope, that's not it.All the sounds play normally the only thing I can't hear is the FF sound.I also tried out some other games and the sounds play just fine.Only FF has the problem.

You might not be using the correct plug-in. You should have posted this in the Problems with games subforum. You might can more help there.

Oh, I don't know much about emulation. I cannot help you with this, I'm sorry.

first off i need to know what version of epsxe you are using. i also need to know what spu plugin are you using and how you have it set up. are you playing from the disc or an image? if you are playing from and image, what format did you make it in?

I've had issues with the eternal spu plugin and using save states with the sound just dying out. The sound would return just fine if i loaded a savegame from the memory card though.

Have you tried that?

save states are prone to such things. save states save all the state infomation of the emulator, however sometimes it doesnt interpret the information correctly upon reloading which can lead to various problems, sound being one of them.
