Problem with Overblood 2

I play Overblood 2 with ePSXe and it works fine, except one problem with the cutscenes. I think everyone who played this game remembers the almost never ending cutscenes, which are so long, that you can have diner while they are playing. The problem ist that in some cutscenes, they game stucks, actually it don't have an error or something, it just seems like the game "waits". Some cutscenes plays until a certain time and then don't continue playing, the characters just stand there, breathing, light ist still guttering, but it just dont continues. Some cutscenes continued playing after 15 Minutes waiting time. But the cutscene playing now (the one Arcano just meets the gang of the boys, who are protecting the woman at the junkyard) don't continues. I didn't turn off the game for a whole night, waiting it continues, but without any result. What can I do?

what are you playing from, the disc or an image? and what plugins/settings are you using? can you also post your system specs?

ok use the ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2. cdrom plugin with subchannel reading from disc enabled. i actually suggest you run the game from an image since generally the performace is better when doing that method. if you want to know how to make one read this thread. also make sure you use a .ppf patch to get around the copy protection because you are probably using a PAL version and they usually need to be patched before they will work right on the emulator.

since you are using an ATI card i think you should read over this thread because some of their drivers dont work right with the OGL plugins. i would actually use either a software, d3d, or the OGL1 plugin (if you use one of the solutions in that link i just mentioned) instead of the OGL2 for performance reasons. these are the settings i used for the d3d plugin awhile back and they generally work pretty well for most.

Plugin: Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.1.76
Author: Pete Bernert
GFX card: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS

Resolution/Color:
- 1920x1200 Fullscreen - [32 Bit] (ignore what i have here for the res.)

Textures:
- R8G8A8A8
- Filtering: 4 (optional, it can cause glitches in some games so disable it by setting it to 0 if you get anything weird)
- Hi-Res textures: 0 (same thing as TF, it can cause gltches, specifically in games with 2d or pre-rendered backgrounds like the FF games or the resident evil games)
- VRam size: 256 MBytes (set to auto or enter the amount your card has manually. if you dont know, use the dxdiag utility by going to start>run> type in "dxdiag" without the quotes and under the "display" tab you should see it listed. and FYI- most onboard video cards use part of the system RAM instead of having its own dedicated RAM so you may not actually see a VRAM amount listed).

Framerate:
- FPS limit: on
- Frame skipping: off
- FPS limit: 60 (if you are living in germany then you are probably using a PAL version, so instead of 60 you would want to use 50. either do that or just set it to auto.

Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 3
- Framebuffer texture: 2
- Framebuffer access: 4
- Alpha multipass: on
- Mask bit: on
- Advanced blending: hardware

Misc:
- Scanlines: off [0]
- Unfiltered FB: off
- Dithering: off
- Screen smoothing: off (optional)
- Full vram: on
- Game fixes: off [00000000] (if there isnt any fixes for the specific game you are playing then ignore this part)

for your sound, in the spu selection menu you should see 4 boxes, you want to have the top 3 ticked and the 4th unticked. for the spu plugin itself, you should use the eternal spu 1.41 and set it up like the way i have mine:

audio device- directsound
buffer size- 64
audio-out method- thread
all 3 special game fixes enabled
"wait for XA buffer is free" enabled under the "misc" section
neill's reverb

Man, I just love this game, and I never beat it mind you.
I had the same problem when I downloaded the iso a few months ago (the characters keep breathin', lookin' at each other, the music still plays but nothin' happens after that).
If you managed to solve it please tell me.

so if we get a good ISO of the CD, we won't need an PSOne to play this game. I've tried usin' EPSXE and ADRIPSX, it didnt work, trust me its the ISO.
And I dont think searchin for another ISO will work, because as far as i know, all of them are from the same source/cd...

We do not support piracy here as our rules clearly state and downloading a game, even if you own it,is illegal.Thread closed and do not mention illegal stuff again or you will both get warned
