Questions about monster rancher 1/2

I'm thinking on getting these games back if* it's possible to do the shrine cd changing thingy.

If so how do you do it so i dont waste £20 on these and iv'e tried looking for a thread about this from the search thing and found a couple of useless thread to my situation.

Can someone just tell me if its possible to get a monster from the shrine by changing disk and how to do it? so i can decide to buy this or not. Thanks!
