Unhappy Legend of Dragoon Graphical Issues

I'm using Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.8, for my video plugin. And here is my configuration.

LOD runs nice, smooth and clean; however during some enemy moves, and in-game cut scenes (not cg, like after boss battles) the picture sometimes black out. Also battle fade effect just blacks the screen as well. However when I run the game with P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.14, those problems disappear; however the video quality isn't as nice as Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.8, so i'de prefer to use that if possible. I'm not to sure if its the configuration set, or maybe the files I have for the game, which happen to be .iso, but it can be annoying at times. So if my configuration is wrong or there are other suggestions that would be helpful. I'm running the emulators on my laptop and the graphics card is

NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
Core Speed 400 MHz
Memory Speed 600 MHz
Memory Bus Width 64 Bit
Max. Amount of Memory 256 MB

its probably related to your compatibilty settings. try a 2-2-1 or 2-3-1 compatibility setup.

and btw make a new image of the disc in a format other than .iso because that one isnt good for psx games, use something like .img or .bin/.cue instead.

hmm that seemed to work for me (got rid of the black screen on battles), the only thing is my fps drops from 60-40-20 when the battle transition starts, other than that everything seems to run perfect

any ideas?

i dont want to use peops software either, the game looks like ass with it

rather use gl2 2.8

the video board is the problem had one of those myself try 1024X768 for resolution Internal X & Y set to high, stretching leave to standard, render mode select Use framebuffer object (if suported i dont remember if its suported or not ) ), texture filtering set to either 3 or 4, use fps limit either put 60 or select auto, offscreen drawing set to 1, framebuffer effects put it to 1 or 0 your choice, framebuffer upload 1, also check the box for screen filthering, activate the fix and see how it goes

well i barely looked at the readme and seen you can change the graphic options in game

i messed with them all, and it seemed like the framebuffer effects is what was causing some slowdown (it was set to full and got 50 fps on the title screen, it jumped to 60 when i set it to standard)

i still get a drop to 30 fps when a battle starts, how the hell do i fix that? i have the fix activated like you said but its still doing it

in addition to having the top 3 boxes checked, set your plugin up like this:

audio device- directsound
buffer size- 64
audio-out method- thread
all 3 special game fixes enabled
"wait for XA buffer is free" enabled under the "misc" section
neill's reverb

yeah on psx or software plugin on epsxe it runs at 60 and never moves or has slowdowns

with 2.8 gl2 it stays at 60 the whole time, its just those damn battle transitions; i messed with everything and cant get them to go away

it only drops to 30 fps, but it does get annoying when it keeps slowing down when trying to max additions

other than that, im also having boss music 2 and 3 not start playing until its my turn in battle

the battle will start but itll be completely quiet; the music only starts once its my first characters turn to do something

have you tried dropping all the settings in the OGL2 plugin down as far as possible to see if the framerates are more consistent?

use old frameskipping avoids the bugs by skipping every second frame, instead of every 1st, the menu's and FBE's in many games are rendered in the first frame.

Well for games like Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere (NTSC-J) for example it gets glitches with either frameskip old or new i like to make a config thats compatible with all my games
