ePSXe FF7 Graphical Issue.

Hello all. Im fairly new to the emulating world. I ran tons of emulators on my modded xbox but im fairly new to the PC side of emulating. Im running the latest ePSXe and I have my .bin and .iso copy of FF7 Disc 1. I got everything installed. Read up on the dual core patch for vista. I got the audio and Graphics and CDR plugins. I installed them and got them config'd. I fixed the Framerate to the appropriate settings. But heres the problem. When I boot FF7 It runs near flawlessly. Untill i get to the first battle. Then this happens.

I get in the battle. But I cant see my HUD! Its frustrating trying to battle with no hud. Any help?

My Laptop Specs are as follows.

***************************
Compaq/HP Presario F756NR
AMD Turion 64 x2 Dual Core
nVidia nForce 610M 64mb
160 gig hdd
***************************

I know my Graphics card isnt the best. But surely its enough to run a game like FF7. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

post your video plugin settings. and dont use .iso as your image format because its not good for psx games. get rid of that one and make a new image of the disc from scratch (do not convert from one format to another, make an entirely new image) in either .ccd/.img/.sub, .bin/.cue or mdf/mds.

set your compatibility section up like this and set texture quality to the highest.

Compatibility
- Offscreen drawing: 3
- Framebuffer texture: 2
- Framebuffer access: 4
- Alpha multipass: on
- Mask bit: on
- Advanced blending: hardware

edit- and the reason i said to not use .iso is because it does not include subchannel data which is needed for games to work correctly. i didnt really mean it had anything to do with this other visual issue you are having, i just ment that because using .iso is likely to give you an incomplete image which can make it stop working at some point. it has nothing to do with the graphics really, what you are seeing in the battles is related to your plugin settings not the image format.

indeed but he said he had both .bin/.cue and.iso. not much point in keeping two of them if only one of them is likely to work.

Ok. Thanks Jonc. Worked great. But now my game varies from 100 to 145 FPS. Now everything is faster.
