post the plugin you are using, the settings you are using with it and your system specs. the green lines glitch is usually caused by having hi res textures and/or texture filtering enabled.

make it so epsxe is only being used by one of your cpu cores, thats probably the root of your performance issue right there. turn off hi res textures for ff7 and you should probably set filtering to either 0 or 4. other than that the config looks fine although it might be a good idea to enable the game fix for ff7.

how would I make it so it only uses one of the cores?

when I go into battles and such the sound distorts and repeats until moving on into the battle scenes and it takes a min for the screen to switch to the battle scene is this normal? or is it just because of the bugs in the emulator?

go into the task manager and right click the epsxe.exe under the "processes" tab, in the right click menu go to "set affinity", set it to 1.

with the d3d plugin there is known lag in certain parts of battles, mainly towards the end during the spoils screen or during the opening. the only real alternative plugin you can use is a software because right now there is an issue involving certain ATI catalyst drivers and the OGL plugins (which this lag is not as noticable in).

i also suggest using the eternal spu 1.41 for your audio plugin and running the game from an image of the game disc (if you are not already doing so) because generally you get better performance when running it from an image than you would running it directly from the disc. read this thread on how to make images if you do not know already.
