If you're on Vista try adding epsxe to your DEP exceptions list.

yeah thats actually what i ment anyway, give me a little while to look it over for anything odd. in the meantime, have you tried using any other emulators to see if this occurs in them as well?

well i tired using PSX emulator.. and i didn't get any errors when i tried it.. just the orginal emulator is junk compared to epsxe cause it has the + graphics.. and even tried psxeven couldn't get it to work in general.

for plugins i tired the [pec] plugin w/ combination of the petes drivers. and i still got the errors.. so i don't use the [pecs] plugins, just the straight drivers... maybe it was the pecs the messed it up.. but i don't use it anymore and i still get the windows " illegal error" so i doupt it was [pec]

The errors only happen during the load times. like for example.... before and after battles and during zoning.. anything that requires a load it stalls 50% of the time

its going to be a big help if you can find another ps game disc and see if this error pops up during play with that. im just trying to eliminate as many things as i can before i start to really get into the heavier stuff.

post you sound plugin, its exact settings, and make sure only the top 3 out of 4 boxes are ticked in the spu selection menu. there are one or two other things that might be related but i want to get this out of the way first.

Hmm,
I'm not the expert here,
but when FF7 crashes,
it seems to have some problems with ntdll.dll (Nvidia graphics driver, right?),
but when FF9 crashes,
it has problems with the emu it self,
isn't that kinda strange?

first thing you might want to try is to wipe epsxe of your HD completely and then do a fresh install. also try installing an ASPI layer on your system and/ delete all the plugins you dont use.

ff9 is well known to have issues with version 1.6.0, so that could explain why. generally it needs to be run on 1.5.2 otherwise it will stop working at a certain point.

ePSXe CDR ASPI core 1.5.2, make sure it is looking towards the correct cd drive.
