FF7 trouble during Battles

I need help, the command/health/time bar during battles isn't appearing. Is this something that happens often? (I'm new to emulation.)

Ok, the battle screen is working, but now it becomes incredibly slow before entering battle, I had to ctrlaltdel to make it go into battle.

try using the d3d plugin instead, keep those settings for compatibility though. also make sure the game fix for ff7 is enabled. if none of that works consider using a different emulator like psx for FF7.
