Metal Gear Solid Crash - Hind Battle w/ Liquid Snake

Hi guys, it's my first post here.

I'm playing Metal Gear Solid, the USA release, with ePSXe version 1.6.0 and no frontend. I'm using a wired Xbox 360 controller hooked up to my PC's USB port.

I've had no problems so far, apart from some with the sound that I resolved by tinkering with the settings. However, today I was in the battle with Liquid Snake in which he is flying the Hind helicopter. Using the Stinger missiles, I can hit him once, but the second time I hit him the game freezes.

Pressing "Esc" takes me back to the main ePSXe window and stops the emulation. If I go to Run>Continue, all I see is a black screen. My system specs are a Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.4GHz and an nVidia GeForce 8800GTS 320MB. I'll post more detailed specs if they're the issue, but I don't want to make this post any longer than it currently is.

I've attached a screenshot of the point at which the game freezes, in case it will be of any use. I'd be very grateful if someone could help me to resolve this issue

from what ive heard, MGS is tricky to get running right on epsxe (i play the pc version instead), read through this thread an you might find something useful. if not, just post your video plugin setup and ill see what i can do.

and since you are using a multi-core cpu, i suggest setting epsxe to a single core when you want to use it, otherwise you might get performance issues.
