Pokemon Soul Silver/Heart Gold Emulation Discussion

Hello,

Any idea how to fix problem with Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver? Game starts fine and it crashes/goes black screen after your character is being made smaller and enters its room. (just after typing character's name, when you are supposed to begin the game in your room).

tony-mon September 10th, 2009 17:24

We have all the same problem.I have tried to use all the option but doesn't work.I'm playing soul silver with Ideas.it works perfectly but the sound is horrible.i have tried to use ideas save because i thinked that only in that step no$gba doesn't work but happens the same thing. So i suppose that no$gba hasn't the requirements to emulate this rom...infact Soul silver requires a great 3D support....thing that no$gba does'nt have.....so if you want to play with no$gba...you should wait for the new version
(sorry for my english but i'm italian)

For me DesmuMe works much better than IdeaS and it has prefect sound :D

This game works in No$GBA 2.6a + No$Zoomer 2.3.0.2 + the BIOS & Firmware.bin (as you know, the only way to get it legally is dumping it from your DS). Anyway, you need to do the following:

- First, open any game (HG or SS). Go to No$GBA --> Options --> Emulation Setup (or with F11). On the Reset/Startup Entry point choose GBA Bios (Nintendo Logo) and click OK.
- Now go to No$GBA options again and click SAVE OPTIONS. This way you won't have to do it everytime you start No$GBA.
- This is very important, go to File -> Open on No$Zoomer or simply press F12. Open your game again. RESET function won't work, as you will get a rom image crash.
- Choose your game just like you would do it on a real DS.

This way the game won't freeze after the Prof. Oak talk. So far saves and runs fine, Dunno it it will freeze at some other point.

Cheers!

Edit. If you don't use No$Zoomer, you will need to use eNDryptS Advanced (google for it). Put the rom file in the same dir as the program and run it. Choose the first option. Now you can run the game with No$GBA 2.6a using the steps above (otherwise the rom image will crash). This is not required if you use No$Zoomer, but it still works anyway.

Oh, thank you man! Really much!

kakashi919 September 10th, 2009 23:45

lol i guess i should have thought about closing off the emulator or reloading the rom instead of reseting >_< thanks

Kamilsa September 11th, 2009 00:19

Weee... Thanks! It works great :D

Not so fast. Yes, this does work, however, the game will sometimes randomly crash, usually when entering/exiting a room. If you intend to use this method, make sure you save and close the program often (if you don't close, the program won't copy the battery save to the save folder, essentially losing everything you've done since you last stopped playing).

TC, this game hasn't even been released to the general public yet in Japan, so you clearly have an illegally downloaded copy. By the Emuformus Warez Policy, we can't offer you any help.

Not too sure about this. A lot of people have got the hard copy of the two new titles today (Sep 11), (e.g. the owner of the site serebii.net) How can you be sure that the thread's creator does not have a legitimate copy? Maybe people can get the game before the official release date (12/9) through pre-order.

I have all the needed files but I don't know where to place them. (The biosnds7.rom, biosnds9.rom and the firmware.bin) Help?

Smilley September 11th, 2009 23:40

Put 'em in the same directory where No$GBA.exe is. The emulator will autodetect them.

I thought I might come on here and just hopefully help some people who are still having problems. So while looking about i found a tip from of all places youtube. It said to enter this action replay code

020DD9DC E0200000

I have no idea why or how it fixed the problem but it did, the only thing is u need to have it on at all times or you just get the black screen. hopefully it help a few people out.

salnaruto2 September 12th, 2009 03:20

Already try the code and work fine until i got to the first battle in route 30 and froze there.
help from anyone?

SachieBear September 12th, 2009 14:31

I set the NDS-Cartridge Backup Media to Flash 512kb and it works fine.

joelogs September 12th, 2009 14:43

has anyone experience any graphic errors? i sometime found the character turn to just a black square and returns to normal at some point after a transition.

Number XIV September 12th, 2009 15:01

I actually did the thing involving Zoomer. I have yet to have any problems. The game just runs slower. I am having one problem, though, that may be completely irrelovent: I can't seem to save. Every time I attempt it, the game freezes. Any suggestions?

joelogs September 12th, 2009 15:17

there's patch made by someone that fixes know problems but not fully well.
