G!lg@me$h what about people who use the Independance Exploit? I don't have a modded ps2, but I do have it setup with the Independance Exploit.

Couldn't I just launch uLaunch Elf? I know I'd have to go in the settings and allow to read elfs from the cd...

And this sorta brings me on the other question, can't I just launch the DUMPBIOS-MASS.ELF? It would be much easier that way. I lauch many ps2 apps off my usb hard drive, hd Loader 0.7c, Code Breaker 9.2 (keep in mind I bought 9.0, as well as 4.0 so I'm not in guilt), and a few other apps.

And G!lg@me$h, I know you're probably a guy and that avatar is your girlfriend, but you're lucky, Asian women are super hot, even fat asian girls. Their narrow eyes, tan or yellow skin, black hair, can't resist them, just like kitty cats.

Well, after a few months, I poked in to see what's new here at ngemu and I'm glad I saw this. I was actualy googling for NTSC version. And I'll be, according to your screen shots this is a NTSC version. My friends at ps2hd had a ps2 bios dumper (dumps to the memory card), but it was for PAL. My system is NTSC, version 10, w/ the official Sony 40gb HDD. Well, anyways, this is a good find, thanx for posting it. I might check back in a few days, hope you can tell me if all I need is just the DUMPBIOS-MASS.ELF. BTW that setup looks like uLaunchElf. I use 3.78.

I guess you're a noob to that or you're just a young buck.
PS2HD used to host files, but after a h@x0r got in and crashed the site, they no longer host files. I sometimes peek in there, say hi to my Friend Slicer, and he walked me through the whole thing, poor guy, he probably was on his breaking point of loosing patients. CriceX is the Big man over there, like Hushypushy is here.

As for the Inpenedance Exploit, I can't believe you don't know anything about it. Well, it's replacing a file on your memory card so when you put in a legit psx game, it'll boot up to uLaunchElf so you can run 3rd party PS2 Apps like .Elf files. I have my Exploit CD as Syndicate Wars, a great classic I love.

You can google it and you might find it. Google;' ps2hd Independance Exploit '
And you will probably find it, details on what it exactly does, and the setup installer, which really makes it so easy a 2 year old can do it. On the PS2HD forums I believe my name is Lucidtomr. The Independance Exploit is a must have. I run GTA Liberty City Stories off my ps2 hdd drive, also my friends at ps2hd helped me get Gran Turismo 4 to run off my ps2 hdd. And ps2hd is also the home of GadgetFreak, the maker of winhiip. Without him and his app, it would be much more difficult for every ps2 owner. If you can get me an Asian Girlfriend I'll help you with every little detail problem you have with it. But it's so easy a caveman can do it.

Alright G!lg@me$h, I tried it just now, here's my findings;

1. It starts up as uLaunchElf 3.41, as I suspected.

2. You can easily browse, BUT YOU DON'T NEED A MOD'D PS2 TO USE THIS.
If you have the PS2 Independance Exploit, which can be setup with HD Advance like I have, then you can run uLaunchElf.

3. Since I saw what this setup was, well, I just popp'ed in my psx exploit CD to start up my PS2 Independance Exploit. The DUMPBIOS-MASS.ELF I just launched from my usb pendrive (which is 512mb GameBird mp3, voice recorder, pendrive, well it's nice, I got it off eb@y for around 35$).

4. Now since I launched the DumpBios-mass.elf I noticed this elf is not in NTSC format. But from basing on what you said, how it takes a few minutes, I just let my ps2 run, not knowing what the screen said while it kept on having a distorted European Refresh Rate -53Mhz. Although I asumed that the flicker / distored screen said what you posted. I came back about 10 minutes later, turned off my ps2, loaded it back up again, checked my :MASS or USB Pendrive, and I saw the files it dumped:
SCPH-50001_BIOS_V9_USA_170.EROM
SCPH-50001_BIOS_V9_USA_170.BIN
SCPH-50001_BIOS_V9_USA_170.NVM
SCPH-50001_BIOS_V9_USA_170.ROM1
SCPH-50001_BIOS_V9_USA_170.ROM2

It's a piece of cake, no mod chip needed if you have the ps2 independance exploit and if you also have a USB Pendrive.

Now there is no need to bug the PCSX2 coders or ask for it on NGEMU (people in general who might ask in the future). The Independance exploit does not mess with your ps2 system files either, it only modifies the boot file on the memory card, or atleast for the fat chubby ps2's.
Now, what to do with my dumped files.... I can probably figure that out with a search and a browse.

one thing, do NOT try to dump this on an MP3 player... I tried it with my Zen Vision:m and it messed the USB drive up. I had to format the thing to get it working again.

you can't break anything.
the program reads the bios only, it writes nothing because the bios chips are roms (read only memory).

and the rules say you must own a PS2 to use the emulator and you don't own one.

I got the same problem as doa123...
My PS2 is modded, but it doesn't load when i insert the cd-r into my PS2..
My mod chip is infinity.. and i got it modded around end of 2005..

I've been spending more than 2hrs trying to reload it in my ps2 and burn some more new cd-r..
BUT it STILL DOESN'T LOAD~~~

And most of my friend doesn't own a PS2!!!
Waaaaaa~~ I'm going CRAZY~~

I'd read other threads about the dumping of bios into the usb... but none seems to help this problem..
I'll be glad if someone can enlighten me..

Finally manage to get it running, BUT...
having some hardware problems..
such as fps too slow..
Lolz..

I'm looking to dump my SCPH-39002 machine's BIOS, which AFAIK isn't dumped (can't grab the image the easy way, Google style!). Any pointers for an as-new condition, unmodified machine?

I hope there's more options than either a mod-chip, a Gameshark, opening it up and desoldering to dump in an expensive ROM reader; all of which I don't have or can't do.

Since the PCSX2 doesn't include bios in the emulator, and if you don't dump the bios, how are you gonna play the games in the emulator??

After you dump the BIOS, what am I supposed to do to make it work with PCSX2? By the way mine is a slim version: SCPH-75001_BIOS_VX_USA_220 is what it told me after it dumped it.

Put it in the BIOS folder in the pcsx2 directory, and then select it from the config menu in pcsx2.

Since my PS2 had a trouble at reading CD/DVD media, I try to run the elf both via Toxic OS and ulaunch, and it failed me. Damn! dont know whats going wrong.

Its successfully detect the console, version, etc. But it failed in dumping bios, rom1, erom, etc.

Update: Thanks GOD finally it work. Run it from the newest ulaunch (v4,12), but copyed it to HD or MC first (I run it straight from the USB Storage before, guess thats what make it failed to dump) both Ulaunch.elf and the dump.elf and it works like magic
