Yep. The best you can do is download the 351beta and turn on speed hacks. Remember no support for them though.

Heya I need some help properly configuring for FF XII.
Basicly by now i've pretty much got it all covered except the sounds/music, which keeps repeating/stuttering slighty(Like in the very start a man says Hey, sounds like: H.. He.. ey.. y...) Getting quite fine FPS and the movies don't seem to stutter for a change. AMD Athon 64 X2 4400+, nVidia GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB, 2x 1 GB kingston DDR. Using the new beta, which I do not have any question on at all ![]() ZeroGS Kosmos 0.97.0 Interlace Enable [X] Bilinair Filtering [X] Anti Aliasing: None PEOPS Spu2 1.9.0 Enable Thread Mode [X] Interpolation: 2: Gaussian Interpolation (Tried em all) SSSPSX Pad Plugin Pressure Mod 1.7.0 Linuzappz Iso CDVD 0.7.0 Dev9, USB, Firewire all use Null drivers versions 0.3.0, 0.4.0 and 0.5.0 respectively. Pcsx2 will crash when trying to use GSdx Tried different stuff obviously, looked around the forums for proper setups but can't find one working for me. Any help is appreciated. Thanks ![]() Edit: OS: Windows XP SP2. |

For GSDX - download latest one <1.8> and update ur DirectX <links r in the first post of GSDX thread> and use SSE2 version of it. Note: u should OC that X2 if u want better synched sound and higher fps in FF XII.

As soon as I disable Thread mode, it starts sounding even worse. I will try again just to be certain, but I tried any (logical) combination of settings with the PEOPS 1.9.0. I do have the latest GSdx, I downloaded the plugin yesterday, I just cannot get it to work with any(again, logical) combination of settings so far, though I still got quite some combinations to try. Also updated my graphic drivers yesterday. Though I don't think that should affect sound in any way, they were quite outdated. I am currently downloading the latest DirectX for my system, hoping that will do the trick. I am not experienced at all with overclocking, and to tell the truth always been a bit scared to try. I don't want to mess anything up, lose warranty etc. Besides, I can run anything at max.. Cept a PS2 emulator . If there's no other option left, AT ALL, I may try to OC my processor.Artemix: With my current settings displayed above, I get very good quality FMV's(At least I assume, as my intro movie looks sweet, and on 0.9.4 it would stutter), cept for the sound. I have read other people write that they have had no problems with the FMV's. Just give it a go .Edit: Updating DirectX did not make a difference. Thread mode seems essential to the quality, with it disabled I start hearing static sounds, as well as stuttering/looping small parts of the music. Enabling it only leaves the stutter/loop. Changing interpolation settings make no really noticable differences. Last edited by Antiga; July 27th, 2008 at 20:51. |

I guess I'm in for a treat here, being a Mac User...
I'm thinking about installing XP via BootCamp, just to be able to play FFXII. The specs of my machine are: Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 3.06 GHz Memory: 4 GB Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS Do you think that will be enough for a decent experience? Note: I did use PC's for years, so I know my way around Windows. Thanks! EDIT: Never mind, found a thread with a guy having the same specs... Last edited by NeoBahamuth; July 28th, 2008 at 07:12. |

I've been getting better to actually good sound quality when using Gigahertz SPU2 (Public Beta) 1.9.0
But.. Of course, there's always a but. I do get a bit of one time, but permanent delay. So the music, sound effects, are all played several seconds after the actual gameplay. Call it out of sync if you will. I had to configure for quite a while in order to get optimal quality, the number of buffers seems to make a difference in the delay, but lowering the number of buffers makes the sound stutter/loop as it would before. Output Module: 2 - Dsound (Typical) Interpolation: 2 - Cubic (Good), changing makes no noticable difference. The only option I have enabled is Enable Timestretcher, all others are disabled. Buffer size: 16284 Number of Buffers: 10 Any help would still be appreciated Look a few posts above for more details.

Could you please provide an URL? As I am unsure what you mean, I assume you mean a patch. Even then I have never used a patch before, and it's impossible for me to find your patch without knowing anything about it. Putting number of buffers on 8 seems to be the right number. However the buffersize seems too small on 1536. I got it on 2048, Now im getting almost no delay at all, however some slight static especially when there's quite 'busy' music playing. However now the ingame cutscene(the first one for example) seems to play a bit.. slow, as well as the sounds are 'slowed' down, like a DJ does with his scratcher.. Only about 20 FPS in cutscenes, 40-50 in movies. Edit: FPS is my problem, I know my system is on the edge for this game, it *should* work, though its on the low end. Is there any way to improve FPS without having to overclock? GSdx only works if I use the GSdx9 version, obviously as I use XP. I do not understand why people are advicing me to use the latest version, 0.1.8 SSE2, as that one is for Vista/DX10. Even then the GSdx9 0.10.0 gives horrible quality. Using ZeroGS Kosmos 0.97.0, turning on anti alliasing to 16x actually gives me great graphics in the cutscenes, however it goes under 10 FPS. I've tried so many different combinations, many which work fine on one part, but fails on another. If I were able to combine all the combinations I might get it to work properly Sadly there aren't such advanced plugins. All advice still welcome =) Last edited by Antiga; July 28th, 2008 at 22:36. |

It works very nice on your xp, after you update your directx. But since your pc is too weak to reach 60fps you'll have to live with the results. |

To tell the truth I hear little difference beteween the original and your mod, quality wise that is. GSdx 0.1.8 SSE2 works, but gives less performance than ZeroGS Kosmos 0.97.0 for me. Been messing around with different plugins and different settings literally for hours and hours last couple of days, but I just can't get to a good solution.
Edit: I asumed the GSdx versions were for Dx10, as there wasa GSdx9 version for which I asumed it was for Dx9, as I read somewhere on this forum that certain versions of GSdx are only for Vista/Dx10. Now i'm rather confused which is what though. Last edited by Antiga; July 31st, 2008 at 05:35. |

Has anyone else had this problem?
![]() My specs: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.40GHz 2GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT And for some reason, all Gsdx plugins crash upon starting the game. I'm really hoping that there is some little box I can check to fix this layering(?) problem. You guys really seem helpful, I hope you can help me too! Hi, I need a little bit of help here please.
I've got the graphics working perfectly fine but I cannot seem to get the music to work properly. With the settings already mentioned in this thread, all I get are really slow / crackly music... I'm using GiGaHeRz's SPU2ghz 1.9 Beta.. I dont have timestretcher on as that causes it to be very slow music, but the way I have it atm, the music "sounds" perfect...but instead of continuing to go on normally...it stops and reverts back to loop it when it shouldn't... can anyone help with this please? settings I have atm which has got it perfect sound - Dsound - Typical Linear - Mid Limit Speed to Output Speed ticked Buffer - 8 Buffer Size - 16284 everything else is unticked.. These are the only settings that make it "sound" like it's supposed to, but it keeps stopping then going back when it shouldn't, asif it were part of a round... |
