Yet another FFX-2 thread

Hey guys, first of all: thanks for taking the time to read this. I appreciate it.

So, anyway, I just finished FFX with the PCSX2 emulator(version 0.95 I believe) and it went really smooth. Game ran just as fast as on any PS2 during the battles and during at least 70% of the traveling. The rest of the time it sometimes went slower, often faster, but this really didn't bother me at all.

Movies also played just perfectly.

Anyway, after that huge success, I thought I'd try FFX-2, but alas, this does not seem to go as well as FFX did.
The problem arises at the intro movie(after selecting new game, the one on game start is fine) already. The upper half of the screen flickers like crazy, while the bottom part of the screen is pretty much black.

Some of the interlacing options 'change' the problem, but they don't get rid of it. All they sometimes do is stopping the flickering and replacing it with bars of blackness and a general fogginess of what can still be seen.
The bottom part of the screen remains unaltered.

Anyway, I'm not a computer whizz so after looking through the first 5 or so pages for an answer, I decided to step out into the light and ask the question myself.

I use the following plugins:
Gsdx (MSVC 15.00, SSSE3) 0.1.7 for graphics
P.E.Op.S. CDVD (CDDA mod) 1.3.0

I've tried disabling and enabling the speed hacks, disabling the patches and the interlacing modes.
I believe I heard mention of framerate reducing to stop the flickering of the screen, but I don't have any idea how to do that and I don't think that'd solve the problem of the bottom half of the screen being two blocks of darkness?

Anyway, I hope I'm not just overlooking something really easy here, and thanks again for reading.

The videos will play fine with zerogs.
But seriously, its just the videos. And they're not even that good in FFX-2
Just fyi, this is a known problem. And no framerate "tweak" will solve it.

Right, thanks, I'll try that right away.

Even if they're not that good, I'm always very big on the story aspect of games like these, so I rather not miss out on them.

Well, I'm now about ten hours into the game and I've only had this problem with 2-3 of the cinamatic movies, which means all of them excpect the ones coming from treasure spheres. Those 2-3 I could generally follow the action off, and if not: youtube has them too.

So in the end, it's not really a problem anymore. Thanks for the help!(not using zeroGS because, while it does solve the issue, framerates are too terrible)
