Mortal Kombat Armageddon: Is it playable?
Hello,
it says it is playable on the comp.list. but did anyone test it, and can comfirm it runs smooth enough? My machine: Amd X2 6000+ (2 x 3ghz) 2 GB Ram 8800GTS 512 MB Exo Edition Win Xp Prof. I tested my original games (I didnt make a iso from it) but it sucked ass with 15 FPS. That was Destroy All Humans 1 by the way. Thanks Edit: I checked the screenshots thread, somebody said its fully playable with fullspeed, other one with better processor (quad) but bad graphicscard said that it is slow. Whats more important? Processor or gpu? Last edited by Johnnsen; May 11th, 2008 at 14:19. |

Processor?
In MK games? LOL. Whole MK seriee (DA, DC, A) is one of most GPU limited games in pcsx2.Mortal Kombat games is a strange ones. You wont prabably get full speed in MK:A i got like 30 - 40 fps mostly and 55 at best passible situation (2 Noob Saibots fighting). Basicly its GPU limited (dont go above native for anything playable in this one), CPU usage vary to 70 - 80% tops. Thought that MK: Deadly Alliance or Deception willbe faster -> wrong, its actually almost TWO times slower then MK:A, usually got like 20 - 28 fps in MK: DA or DC, and this is a pain coz its even more GPU limited then MK:A, CPU usage in this two very rarely go up to 90%, mostly at 40 - 60%, so its hard to image that it willbe fully playable in near future. I got Geforce 8800GT (overclocked) -> so for fullspeed, you would need something like 2xGeforce GT/GTS which wouldnt do anything atm, coz SLI or multichip single card (Radeon 3870X2) work like single ones in pcsx2. Enough said. Specs: C2D @ 3,2 GHz 2 GB RAM Geforce 8800 GT Last edited by Xerialq; May 11th, 2008 at 14:52. |

Umm actually GSdx reports the cpu usage the GS takes up,so if you have 99% usage it means you are GPU bottlenecked and if it's lower than that CPU bottlenecked. So MK games are hugely cpu bottlenecked

Lol
I always thought opossite (dont know why :P).In that case, on C2D more overclocked then my lets say like 3,6 - 4 GHz it is passible to get fullspeed in MK: A, but still not passible in MK: DA or DC. So answer for youre question Johnnsen - not passible on that Athlon its not even around my C2D (specs above) and i dont have fullspeed in MK: A (look above). |

Damn, that's kinda annoying now. Meh well, I dont know if I should test it. Argh, now the CPU is too slow for that. Goddamn
Well I dont give a damn about fullspeed, when I think about it. But would it at least be playable well? |

Its not a PC game, so 30 fps out of 60 is Really SLOW lets say like 15 fps in normal PC game. You can try it, but i doubt it willbe fun for you. That guy who posted MK: A fully playable (fullspeed) in screenshot thread got C2D processor overclocked to 3,85 GHz which in case of MK: A is about to be sufficent to get fullspeed.
