Resuming the topic, you should probably keep the 3.0GHz C2D, and try the variety of intense PC games.

By the time you have enough to buy a PS2, there are two outcomes:

PCSX2 can finally play the game, hence do so with the high-end processor. In which you can switch back to the PS2 in case certain parts of the game are not fully playable.
PCSX2 cannot play the game, so you can play it on the PS2 in the meantime while you wait.

In either case, you do not have to worry about the game, and use the time for other productive tasks.

If you want god of war in high res next gen graphics that badly, just buy a $300 ps3 and GoW 3 when it hits ps3 sometime next year.

Bleh. I must've sleeping on the job if I missed this. This kind of behavior is frowned upon. The PCSX2 staff can't just snap their fingers and make everything work.
