Final Fantasy X - Few Issues
Hi All
I am a relative newbie to the PS2 emulation scene, I have been wanting to play final fantasy X for quite sum time and I thought i would try this, I seems to have it all working just the FPS is obviously the major issues here. Current Spec: CPU = AMD X2 Dual Core 4600+ Memory = 3gb DDR2 Graphics = 7800 GX2 HDD = 4 sata 200GB's Plugins: Graphics = ZeroGS KOSMOS (no SSE2) 0.97.0 First Controller = SSSPSX PAD Plugin Pressure Mod Cdvdrom = Linuzappz Iso CDVD 0.7.0 Sound = P.E.Op.S. SPU2 1.9.0 The main questions I have and I am sorry if I sound like abit of a idiot here, but I hav browsed this forum inside out and I just dont really no what version to use of PCSX2 Do i got for the beta and if so which of the exe's should i use??? and what settings can i use with the current plugins above to improve my FPS, the FMV's ingame run perfectly its just the game play soon as more than one character gets into screen goes to 30 fps and lags to hell, and I am using to correct plugins??? I no I have a dual core but are most of the plugins for dual core designed for the Intel Dual core???? Any help from anyone would be gratelly appreicated

Use GSdx for your graphics.
Go to PCSX2.net - News and download the latest beta. With it you can enable speed hacks which will help you to improve your speed. But, they are more likely to crash your game. Also, the betas are not supported here on the forums. Edit: By the way, use the .exe without the the "t" in the filename, for example, pcsx2svn349.exe. That's the virtual memory version which should give you the best results. If you're on vista, be sure to run the application as an administrator. Last edited by TLIXX; May 10th, 2008 at 13:00. |

That's weird...I got almost 40-50FPS on my old 3800 AMD X2 and GeForce 6800.
Follow the guide in my signature and see how it goes.

have you already enabled:
cpu-> Multi Threaded GS Mode cpu->Dual Core Mode cpu->limit (also recommended, but not necessary) ? also, if you use ZeroGS Cosmos, don't choose the "no SSE2" mode, but the normal and enable the FFX hack in its options well, if that won't work you actually can't configure more except the sound, which you could try to disable in order to check out wheather it caused some mischief but you actually shouldn't worry about your specs since i was able to play it at full speed except for some pixel crowded scenes

![]() Thanx for the above replies, and i did have the same thought that my PC spec shouldnt be the issue here just sumthing very stupid I am doing. I have tried changing the Graphics plugin to ZeroGS Cosmos normal and I get almost exaclty the same fps as before as shown by picture above which I find quite odd :| I followed the guide as well and I dont appear to be doing anything wrong :| can play call of duty 4 all on high with nice high FPS yet I cant manage this which is rather strange. Tired various sound plugins dont make any difference ![]() Thanx for help again but if anyone else has any ideas would be thankfull

PC games and emulation have nothing to do with each other.
Also, you have...a TON of backround processes, kill them all.
