Tips for sound? FFX

Hello guys.

Just recently decided to enjoy my old PS 1 and 2 games. Ill cut to the chase.

I have successfully installed, tweaked and followed the pcsx2 guides on how to setup the software. Right now im playing FF X at 60 fps constant with maximum quality possible (game looks beautiful). Now the only thing im having trouble ironing out is the sound, sometimes in the game it skips a little, nothing too serious but just enough so that it's noticable. I know that emulation is never perfect, but if anyone has any tips on how to get the sound running flawless id greatly appreciate it.

Also, im using the latest public beta.

For sound I have tried ZeroSPU 0.4.4 (have found this one to be very nice quality) and have also tried P.E.Op.S SPU2 1.9.0 (i noticed this one sounded a little robotic, but it could have been my settings)

Here is my system specs if thats applicable.

Intel c2d E6400 oc'ed 2 3.4 ghz
2gb@800 ocz ram , timings @ 4-4-4-12
nvidia 8800gts 320mb. (oced but this probly doesnt affect sound :P)
creative xtremegamer Fatal1ty Pro X-FI sound card /w latest drivers
320x2 Seagate drives in RAID 0

I think my PC is pretty powerful enough to handle the emulator. I also tried a forum search for sound but came out mostly with FMV/graphics problems (which I have none of).

Any advice you guys can offer would be good.

Thanks!

If your game is always running at 60fps, you can try and change the plugin settings to "Real Time" sound instead of "Time Scaling". I find that when I play with Time Scaling on and if my FPS drops even to 59, I get a little skip in sound.

This is of course with the "ZeroSpu" plug-in.

It does for me. Whenever I drop in FPS using Time Scaling it scales the sound (obviously) and I get little skips.

If I am able to run the game at an almost solid 60fps, then Real Time fixes it.

yep, without real time mode i get crackling and skippy sound when i run PAL games at ~48-49fps and it could not reach solid 50fps.

Well, must be the placebo effect.
All the realtime code is commented out in the source
