I could spank an e7200 hard for fullspeed pcsx2,
the e7200 is easier to overclock fsb/multiplier than the 8 series

I can obviously see you don't overclock - to which rap is reffering obviously

£155 vs £80, both overclock to 4 ghz

sure the e8400 will break sub10 on superpi and the e7200 will bench at 11-12 seconds
but they both will own pretty equally for games
