Persona 3 plays fine on my comp, granted there are a lot of graphics issues at times, and it slows down sometimes during speech, etc. But nothing that isn't particularly expected with an emulator.

I play it on my laptop just fine at 40-60 fps for like 10 minutes at a time then it gets hot and slows down to 10-20 fps. =/

thats probably because your laptop is overheating, and then your processor runs at a slower speed in order to protect itself from permanent damage.

find a way to keep your laptop cool, or else just play the game on a desktop.

laptops aren't really good for PCSX2.

in the guide in my sig, i have a bunch of tips for persona 3.
check it out if you have any problems.

the game runs relatively well, but the battles are slow unless you have a superfast PC.

I haven't seen a direct patch, but a version where the japanese voices are back in has been released, no subs or anything though. It has actually happened with a LOT of JRPGs recently, since most the voiceovers are absolutely terrible.

I got that as well when running with ZeroGS .97.1 if I remember correctly, it seems to run a bit better then .97.0, but .97.0 doesn't seem to have the bug with the hair.

An Undub is illegal also. Because you have to download a fiddled copy of the game, which isn't a patch for various reasons.

Though if you have a copy of the original game, that would never hold up in court. We are in an age where modification of games is encouraged rather then a developing company coming out and going "OMG YOU MODIFIED THE ORIGINAL CODE" Especially if the terms, which I'm not going to read, don't directly say that you can't modify the content, which typically aims toward you can't slightly modify the game and claim it as your own. Plus, the Japanese voiceovers are still on the DVD with the North American release so that is just asking for a newbie modder to come in and switch the voice files.

does it run faster with zerogs 97.1? currently i am using gdsx 1.7 dx10 sse3 and it goes as slow as mid 30s and usually runs at 60. Stupid 3d models slow my comp down a lot. zerogs refuses to widescreen for me.

You can do whatever you like with the original game, the content on the disc is yours. As long as it's for your own personal use that doesn't violate other portions of your local law, you're in the clear.

What is not legal is downloading a game (patched or not) even if you own the original. No if, and's, or but's.

Most user-made patches are immensely complex and are not easy to develop. If it was just a matter of renaming files, it would have been done a long time ago.

The content on the disc remains protected intellectual property under copyright; it's just the developers cannot ask you to cease and desist if they are not aware of any patches or modifications being made to their game.

Strictly speaking, downloading an unmodified image of a game you own is not legal nor is modifying any of the contents. It is legal to rip a backup from your copy of the game, but the fact remains that you cannot patch or modify any of the contents.

Usually developers are lax about striking down on modding and patches unless they see that you are making a profit off their copyrighted material.

It depends on the laws that rule in your nation/state/... there are some places where laws allow very restricted EULAs and places where laws the limit the EULA. In other words if the user agreement infringe some law in your nation you don't have to do what it says.
