Gran Turismo 3
Gran Turismo 3
hi, i have been using pcsx2 for a few weeks trying to get this to run. i have used numerous combinations of plugins and options to try an get this to atleast run 1 track like some people have been able to. i am running the latest version of PCSX2 0.9.4. my pc specs: Pentium D 3.40ghz 1Gb ram @ 600mhz dual channel Vista Ultimate 32 bit and a crappy ATI X600 lool but anyway i have installed the new GDSX plugin which incorporates DX10 and DX9 and the ZeroGS KOSMOS 0.97plugin. i have tried both plugins but they seem to crash the emulation when loading the race (GSDX) or displaying a load of fuzzy patterns across the screen (ZeroGS). Also i have sound disabled. the only way i have been able to get in and race is by using the software renderer in GSDX plugin but this is too slow, even on the opening screen it can only do 30/60fps! And in race a small 1-3fps! i have selected the dual core options in the cpu config and using a patch to skip the intro. has anyone got any advice for me to run either the speedway or midway tracks, ive heard these can be played. im not looking for speed, just to see for my satisfaction lol thanks for your help ps i know it says 'ingame' but come on! Also when i open the main emualtor it asks me to log off so it can secure the physical memory, well i log off and back on and nothing happens. What's that about? i tried running as admin but still no affect. (sorry about previous section admins )

Ingame status means it'll get ingame, but won't be playable.

For me it doesn`t work on any of the tracks sadly
. GT4 runs better to the point that you can atleast do most of the tracks, except that theres random crashes + if you run your car into a wall the game freezes. But atleast it gets that far. That said I prefer GT3 to GT4 so I wish it worked. But meh I can live without it for now.

Two things:
1. Pentium Ds suck. It's fact. You won't be getting major speed with that thing. 2. The X600 card. A midrange card from the R300 series. The R300 series was made in 2002/2003, and it's main competitor was the Geforce 5xxx series. That's probably what's causing the crashes in GSDX, the card isn't recent enough to be of any use. With a better rig, it would probably be possible to load up a race NOT in software rendering, and be able to play it.

are you trying to say that even if i had the same config as someone else but had a P4 where as they had a quad core, for them the game will load and mine will not?
that is very odd, i thought we would both have the same software running the game, therefore i would also be able to load a race but have a low fps. if you read my op you would see i dont care about speed i just want to load up a race. also i did get into a race and it ran between 25-35fps which im happy with. *this has been resolved, but if anyone can shed more tips then please go ahead |

The Pentium Ds are an oddity. They have 2 cores, but the way they execute instructions is so poor, it might as well just be a single Pentium 4.
But I think your 25-35fps is pretty much all you can hope for with your current system. If I recall correctly, I believe the Gran Turismo are one of the games where no matter how good your system, it'll still be slow. So you're just going to have to wait it out until there's a fix for it ![]() Post your PCSX2 0.9.4 Screenshots Here!
